Alessandra Rojo de la Vega has been through a lot. She survived an assassination attempt that Mexico City’s Attorney General called “fabricated.” Now, her election victory has been overturned for inciting “gender-based political violence” against her opponent, Caty Monreal. But Monreal was never attacked during the campaign, and Rojo de la Vega’s victory has been upheld against two previosu challenges. We spoke with her as she prepared to appeal to Mexico’s highest electoral court.
