AMLO’s son gives embattled Sinaloa governor Morena membership

Andrés Manuel López Beltran, the son of former President López Obrador and the General Secretary of the Morena Party, visited Sinaloa to give the state’s Governor, Rubén Rocha Moya, his membership credentials for the Morena Party. The Governor has been accused by critics of having direct links to the Sinaloa Cartel, which has waged a fierce war with itself in recent months that has seen the state’s homicide rate soar. There have been protests in Sinaloa calling for the Governor’s resignation. Rocha Moya, who has long been close with López Obrador, has denied the accusations made against him.
