Mexico’s environment budget slashed

Mexico’s protected national parks will receive their lowest funding for over a decade next year, at just 10 pesos per hectare. It’s part of a 40% cut to the environment budget in President Sheinbaum’s 2025 budget, which has now been passed. It comes on the back of Sheinbaum’s appearance at the G20, which she used to highlight the importance of reforestation schemes and environmental protection. Read more at Proceso.
