Natural gas imports at record high under AMLO

Natural gas imports into Mexico from the United States hit a record high in the final year of López Obrador’s administration, according to reports. These imports represent 72% of total natural gas use of the country, up from 63% at the start of his six year term. The news undermines AMLO’s claims to have made Mexico energy independent.
