Senate approves creation of Judicial Disciplinary body

Mexico’s Senate yesterday approved, 79 - 31, the creation of the so-called Judicial Disciplinary Tribunal. It’s a panel of five judges who will have the power to unilaterally sanction any judge in Mexico, once the country’s judicial reform is fully enacted. The creation of the board was heavily criticised as anti-democratic and unaccountable by the opposition PAN and PRI parties. Read more at Animal Politico.
